Chromatic Sound

Für die Entwicklung der Soundcollage entlang des Lichtrings trafen drei Solist:innen aus der Leipziger Improvisationsszene auf Sr. Maria Wolfsberger, Kantorin der Nikolaikirche und Julian Schötzau aka darktonemedia, um gemeinsam im Lichtraum der Nikolaikirche eine Live-Komposition zu entwickeln und aufzunehmen, die auf die Ereignisse des Herbst ‘89 referiert. So bildete die Musik aus der Nikolaikirche die akustische Spange im Gesamtkunstwerk des Lichtrings.

A handheld camera with micro accompanies the people walking the path of the inner city ring. You can hear the original sound from the sounds of the city, the voices of the people and the Chromatic Sound, which filled the light ring with sound collages on October 9, recorded in the light space of St. Nicholai Church. Thus, the sound space of Saint Nicholai spans an acoustic ring around the inner city ring of Leipzig, correlating with the light ring.
